New Autumn/Winter 2013 Projects

B project paper objectsWe’re pleased to announce 3 new B Projects for this autumn:

Write Ideas

An author-led writing project with Sara Grant and Sarah Mussi. Discover how to create stories, poetry and more, enjoy soon-to-be-published books and meet professionals from the publishing world. Complete with cup cakes! Write Ideas is a partnership with Platform Young Creative Producers, Hot Key Books, Edge Writers Group and Islington Libraries.

Tuesdays 5-7pm @ Platform, 260 Hornsey Road, N7 7QT

B Photography

Work with professional photographer Marysa Dowling to develop your skills and ideas, and create your own images.

Wednesdays 5-7pm @ Platform, 260 Hornsey Road, N7 7QT

B Voices

A creative project, which mixes drama, creative writing and performance skills, led by poet, playwright and performer Kat Francois – work with other young women to find creative ways of expressing your ideas and having your say.

Wednesdays 4.30-6.30pm @ Canonbury Youth Project, Canonbury Youth Project, Unit 3, St. Paul’s Road, London N1 2SY

B Creative Week

For young women aged 13-19

Try your hand at singing, spoken word, music production and theatre. supported by inspiring artists, and work towards a performance at the end of the week.

Free of charge.

(Participants are expected to bring their won lunch or bring money to buy lunch in the Platform cafe)

We’re pleased to announce 2 new B Projects:

B Singing
B Singing is a new opportunity for young women aged 13-19 to try their hand at singing under the guidance of a professional singing coach. Participants will gain skills and experience in vocal training whilst learning new songs in a variety of styles and enjoying singing as part a group.

No experience required!
Thursdays 4.30-6pm Platform Youth Hub, 260 Hornsey Road, N7 7QT

Write Ideas

Be a part of B Creative Week, a 5-day programme of creative activities that will inspire you and develop your skills. Taking place from Monday 30th July to Friday 3rd August, 11am-4pm each day, this FREE week of fun and creativity will give you the chance to try out a range of art forms in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Combining dance, photography, singing and spoken word, you’ll work with professional artists to help you develop your creative ideas and show your work.

This time next week we’ll be at the start of a three week festival of reading, writing and freedom of expression and it’s all happening in Islington.

Our very own B Project creative writing workshops are featured and our wonderful Peer Leaders are doing a flashmob on Highbury Fields on Saturday 12th May. There’s so much going on that we can’t possibly mention it all here so check out http://www.wordfestivalislington.co.uk for more info and how to get involved. Most events are free and happening on your doorstep so it’s easy to find something great to see or do.

B Projects are back!

Well its been a little quiet over Easter but now school has started we’re back with a bang! Don’t forget, each week we have creative writing at Freeword Centre, photography at Canonbury Project and dance at Lift (the healthy living youth hub ion White Lion St).

There’s no need to book, no need to bring any equipment and best of all, all the projects are free. Yes, 100% FREE. What’s more, if you take part in the creative writing project in the next few weeks, your work can be featured in the Islington Word Festival. So get down to Freeword Centre next Tuesday and you can show Islington just how talented you are…
